THE ORIGINAL AND CURRENT OBJECTIVES OF ASOC IS ‘...... THE PRACTICE AND APPRECIATION OF THE FINE ARTS OF PAINTING, DRAWING, AND ALLIED REPRODUCTIVE PROCESSES, AND OF SCULPTURE.....”

It is a friendly Society with a lot happening, with a lot of support for those of you who wish to learn about some aspect of art, or maybe want to pick it up again after some years, but also supports those who are at or near professional standard, and who wish to exhibit or pass on the skills they have learned.

Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month 7pm at:
Majura Hall,
Northside Community Centre,
Rosevear Place, Dickson.

At the monthly meetings, guest artists demonstrate or we have interesting speakers on some area of art. Our BYO ART nights have proved to be very popular.

Workshops

ASOC hosts many workshops throughout the year, at the centrally located Sea Scout Hall in Yarralumla. The Summer Art Experience is a full week of classes in many media. Close to 200 people attend in January each year.

Weekly Groups

We also have a variety of casual groups during the week. At the Sea Scout Hall on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin in Yarralumla. Some tutored and some for people who like to paint or draw with others of a like mind.
